Two Types of Movement Lessons!
Group lessons (Transformational Movement Lessonssm)
Invented by Anat Baniel, these lessons use the teaching of Moshe Feldenkrais as a springboard for heightened attention and clarity as students are guided to engage in the life transforming experience of presence to the immediate details of their own life in movement. Students wear loose and comfortable clothing and bring a pad or cloth to lie on the floor. The lessons are verbally guided and students are led to discover moving wide awake and ready while letting go each moment of unnecessary holding. Demonstrations are given as needed for clarity.
Price: $60 for 6 lessons
Individual lessons (Functional Synthesissm)
Students dress comfortably and may be guided to move actively or they may be passively moved. Usually these lessons are primarily passive with students lying on a table or mat. I use gentle force through the skeleton of the student to immitate gravity in such a way that the student's nervous system can perceive very small differences. The movements are gentle, clear, precise with clear intention towards learning. Through the perception of finer and finer differences, students learn to feel, think and move with greater skill and pleasure.
Students are highly encouraged to experience lessons in groups of 3 or more with a break rather than one lesson per week since the results are cumulative! However, people report excellent outcomes after one lesson.
